Reutilization of green and neutral carbons for a circular economy of the carbon

In the face of climate change, the energy transition leads to a world without fossil fuels, which today define the energy basket of a large majority of countries in more than 75% and are the main source of greenhouse emissions.

Consequently, new energy carriers must priority be based on electrification on the one hand and on new carriers with high energy density and a sustainable footprint. The industry, including its raw materials and its energy, and transportation generate about the 30% each one of the total CO2 equivalent emissions, constitute a great challenge that demands the scientific and technological development of a new sustainable carbon chemistry.

In a future without "black" carbons of fossil origin, only "green" carbons of biogenic origin or "neutral" carbons captured directly from the air, DAC, or the DOC ocean can be used. To do this, it is necessary to have adequate nanomaterials, Kg of CO2/kg and with very low energy KJ by captured CO2 mol,  and very efficient catalysts to ensure  high energy efficiency, high productivity and large lifetime of the  systems used in the processes necessary to replace products based on fossil carbons with new sustainable green products: synthetic fuels, chemicals of high added value always using a rational design of the nanomaterials necessary for a new green carbon chemistry. All these features will be analyzed in this talk on the circular economy of the carbon's
